STUDIO POLICIES

EMAIL- Please make sure Dance Concepts has your updated and accurate email address.  Email will be our primary mode of communication.  Please check your email and the Dance Concepts website regularly.  Please add danceconceptsbraintree@Hotmail.com to your contacts to ensure our emails do not go to your spam folder.

ATTENDANCE- Students should strive for perfect attendance year-round.  Good attendance is imperative to the growth of our dancers and absences can hold back the entire class.  Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each class.  Please email the studio if you will be absent.  If a student misses an excessive amount of classes it is at the discretion of the teacher or director to decide if the student is allowed to participate in the annual recital.

CLASS BEHAVIOR- If we feel like any student is being disrespectful in any way to another student, teacher or parent, we will notify the parent and try to rectify the situation.   Inappropriate conduct and bullying will not be tolerated and will be grounds for dismissal from the studio.  We want everyone to feel respected at Dance Concepts.

HOLIDAYS/VACATIONS- Dance Concepts generally follows the Braintree Public Schools vacation and holiday schedule.  We will not close for Election Day in 2023.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS- Dance Concepts will be closed if Braintree Public Schools cancel school or afternoon activities because of bad weather conditions.  There will be no make-ups classes for missed classes due to weather related cancellations. Dance Concepts reserves the right to cancel or combine classes with a small amount of students registered in them.  We also reserve the right to change days and times to better fit the needs of the studio.

TUITION AND FEES- All registration, tuition, costume fees and any other Dance Concepts fees are non-refundable.  There is a $50 registration fee per student.   The annual dance tuition is evenly distributed into 10 even payments, no matter how many days are in each month.  First month due at registration.   Class Tuition is due on the first class of the month. Tuition may be paid by cash or check.   Payments received 10 days after the due date will automatically be charged a $25 late fee.   There will be a $35 charge for all returned checks.

TERMINATION- If a student wishes to drop a class or classes, written notice must be given 30 days in advance to avoid further billing.

DRESS CODE- Dance Concepts follows a dress code for all ages and classes.  Hair must be neatly pulled back in a bun or pony tail.  If students are not following the dress code they will be asked to change or pull back hair.  If the student is unable to comply with the dress code they may be asked to sit out and observe class.  Please do not wear any jewelry that will interfere with dance movements such as rings, necklaces, bracelets and dangling earrings.  Please refer to specific dress codes for each class.

CLASS OBSERVATION- In order to ensure that classes run smoothly and without interruptions we do not allow parents to watch weekly classes.  Occasionally we may let observers come in to see what we have been working on.

CLASS PLACEMENT- Students are placed in the appropriate dance class according to experience and skill level.  To ensure proper placement, students may be moved up or down a level at the discretion of the teacher or director.

FAMILY DISCOUNT- Families with more than one dancer will get a 5% discount off the second and third dancers’ tuition.  This discount does not apply to any solo, private, semi-private, master classes or specialty competition groups.

REFERRAL REBATE- If a new dancer registers for class and gives your name as referring them to Dance Concept you will receive a $10 credit off your last month’s tuition. There is no limit on the amount of friends you can refer to Dance Concepts!

RECITAL- We have an annual recital and dress rehearsal held the second or third weekend in June (date TBA).  The recital is a great opportunity for our dancers to show off what they have been working hard on all year.  Students/Parents are responsible for purchasing tickets.  All studio, costume, recital, and tuition fees must be paid in full or the dancer will not be allowed to participate in the show.

COSTUME FEE- Professionally made costumes are ordered for our annual recital.  Students are responsible for the price of these costumes and they will need a costume for each genre of dance they take.  We will do our best to size the costumes appropriately, but it is the students and parents responsibility for any alterations the costume may need. There is a $125 costume fee per dancer, (and $70 for each additional costume) that is due by NOVEMBER 1, 2023.  The costume fee includes tights, recital t-shirt and recital teddy bear with flower.  Costumes will not be ordered for dancers who have not paid their deposit and will be subject to a late fee and shipping/handling fee.
RECITAL FEE-Our recital fee is $105 per dancer, $80 for siblings and it’s due January 17, 2024. All dancers who are participating in recital will be required to pay the recital fee. Our recital fee helps pay for our dress rehearsal expenses. All dancers will get picture day photo and a copy of the June recital.

PHOTO RELEASE- Dance Concepts reserves the right to use student photographs and videos in promotional and educational material for our websites, Facebook, brochures, newsletters, advertisements, magazines and social media.

DANCE CONCEPTS BALLERINA BUCKS- Dancers can purchase Dance Concepts Ballerina Bucks (card) for $20 and keep them at the studio or in their dance bag, and if they forget a water or want a snack, we will punch/sign their card, and it's worth 22 waters/snacks.  We know that sometimes dancers forget their water or come right from school, so we hope this helps.
